Profile -

Jack has had an amazing 2011 with the BCKA.  Having only started training back in April 2010 Jack has truly had a meteoric rise through the ranks of the BCKA.  Starting off in small competitions in the Boston and Peterborough Series tournaments Jack was an eye catching talent with his fearless approach to light contact fighting and surprising strength for a boy his age.  Keen to nurture his talent and progress his fighting career Jack began training in Corby with the BCKA England Squad.  This led to an inclusion in the squad heading to 2011's Irish Open.

Up until this point Jack had really focused his efforts onto light contact, this being the style that he prefers, however there are no light contact categories for under 18 competitors in the Irish Open.  So Jack turned to semi contact and began to up his training in this area.   Jack is the type of fighter who is determined to be the best at what he does and never goes into training or a fight giving less than 100%, so it was no surprise that he developed his semi contact skills and won himself a bronze medal in 2011's Irish Open.

With his first international competition and honour under his belt and after securing qualification to the WKC World Championships, Jack set his sights on the gold.  He upped his training so that he was training virtually everyday in preparation for the competition.  And in November 2011 the perseverance and dedication paid off as Jack was crowned WKC World Champion in light contact.

As a fighter Jack never gives up, his work rate is second to none and he has phenomenal strength and power.  In a fight he is truly tenacious and fearless, putting combinations together and pressuring his opponent with a barrage of blows.  He absolutely loves training with the BCKA and is now aiming to retain his title as World Champion and to dominate his categories for years to come.  His advice to upcoming fighters would be to try your hardest, make a goal and stick to it.

Jack has risen quickly over the past year but make no mistake, this lad has worked hard and deserves what he has achieved.  Jack also took his purple belt kickboxing grade in 2011 and his achievements over the year have seen him presented with accolades such as BCKA's Young Martial Artist of the Year and being shortlisted for Peterborough's Junior Sportsman of the Year.
